This is my first adventure into blogging! I hope that this can be a fun new way for students and parents to interact with me and each other! I hope parents and children alike will have fun commenting on the assignments I post! Stay tuned for the first assignment!
I love this idea and hope that you'll get lots of participation from your students so that by the time they get to me in college, they'll be comfortable with this medium!)
ReplyDeleteThe only potential issue that I see (and Morgan and I have run into this already) is that composing a comment can be very challenging if you aren't familiar with where the letters are on the keyboard . . . so much so that you can completely forget what you had planned to say as you hunt and peck for letters! :)
Can you recommend some good keyboarding software for second graders?

ReplyDeleteIf your child is having trouble with the keyboarding end of blogging, please don't let that stop you from having your child respond. At this point, it is fine if you help your child type. They will start learning keyboarding in 3rd grade. If you want to get a head start at home, Mr. Ford uses a website from BBC called Dance Mat Typing or a program called Type to Learn.
